Understanding Veterinary Ultrasound

Ultrasound Expertise at Our Clinic
Doctors Culp and Flynn have pursued initial training to do basic ultrasounds here at Onion River Animal Hospital. This is different from a board-certified radiologist or internal medicine specialist who has completed many years of training.
In some cases, after performing an ultrasound here, we may recommend an ultrasound with a specialist to better diagnose and treat your pet.
Your Pet’s Comfort and Care Come First
Ultrasound is a gentle, non-invasive diagnostic tool that typically does not require anesthesia. Our veterinary team ensures your pet’s comfort throughout the procedure and will explain every step so you know what to expect.
We can use ultrasound to look for conditions such as bladder stones, tumors, intestinal foreign body obstructions, pregnancy, and free fluid around the organs in the belly.
